Wooooo, this week has been a wonderful mess! Not necessarily bad, but also not as good as it could've been. I (kinda) finished up "The Sound of White Jasmine" last week, although it still needs some piano vamping so the vocalist doesn't die. I finally got something down for "Les Grottes Inondées"!!!!! So that's something at least. Although there are some clunky transitions between some chords, but I'm working on that.

Heck yeah, I figured out my weird clunky chord situation! The chord progression was: I vi IV V I, and I had all of those middle chords in inversions, but some of them felt too jumpy, so I was workshopping on my piano (in all honesty, I was just messing around because my brain was dead), and I played through the progression while switching up the inversion and ba-da-bing ba-da-BOOM, magic! I'm not a genius or anything, but wowee does that progression feel AWESOME now :) I think I can actually sleep this weekend *happy cry*
I learned this week that even when my brain is fried I can still come up with useful ideas. The trick is making sure to write it down or record it so I don't forget (I have forgotten way too many good ideas because I was too lazy to hit the record button).
Peace out fam

I love that you were just playing around and figured out the chord progression. I've been trying to play around in my practice a little more and it has led to some cool discoveries. Honestly I feel like half the battle of playing/writing music is being willing to mess up haha.
